Council to act on Metro funding Monday, July 25

More than 300 people attended the hearing in Burien last night and voiced their opinions to King County Councilmembers. Thousands more have submitted comments and signed petitions concerning potential Metro service and a possible congestion reduction charge that would stave off major cuts while Metro seeks a more sustainable funding source.

On Monday, July 25 at 3 p.m., the King County Council is scheduled to vote on the two-year, $20 congestion reduction charge to help fund Metro service. The meeting will be held on the 10th floor of the King County Courthouse, 516 Third Ave in Seattle. (get directions to the courthouse).

Because of the overwhelming public attendance at earlier meetings on this topic, the Council has decided to provide an extended public comment period at the start of this meeting.
