Metro Transit service changing for 55 routes Sept. 28
Metro Transit launches its fall service change beginning Sept. 28, and riders are encouraged to review changes in a published rider alert brochure or on Metro’s website. Details also are outlined below.
Route 5
On Saturday, one southbound trip to downtown Seattle leaving Shoreline CC at 6:48 pm and one northbound trip to Shoreline CC leaving 4th Ave S & S Jackson St at 8:08 pm will be added.
Route 10
On Saturday, four northbound trips to Capitol Hill leaving Pike St & 4th Ave at 12:30 and 7 am, and 6 and 7 pm, and two southbound trips to downtown Seattle leaving Capitol Hill at 12:12 am, and 5:40 and 6:41 pm will be added. On Sunday, southbound trips at 12:12, 6:49, 7:49 and 8:49 am, and 10:20 and 11:20 pm, and northbound trips at 12:37, 7:07, 8:07 and 9:07 am, and 10:37 and 11:37 pm will be added.
Routes 16, 66
For about the next three years, routes 16 and 66 will be rerouted in downtown Seattle due to the Elliott Bay Seawall and SR-99 deep bore tunnel construction projects.
Southbound routes 16 and 66 trips to downtown Seattle will operate regular routing to Madison St & 1st Ave, and then continue on 1st Ave, Cherry St, 2nd Ave Ext S, S Washington St to 5th Ave S & S Jackson St. Neither route will operate on Madison St west of 1st Ave to Colman Dock but, instead, will serve a new bus stop southbound on 1st Ave just south of Marion St. This bus stop is just south of the walkway that provides access to the ferry terminal at Colman Dock.
Since this walkway does not meet ADA guidelines near the ferry terminal, ADA customers should use the elevator, located next to the walkway about one half block west of 1st Ave between Post Ave and Western Ave, to access Marion St, Alaskan Way S and the ferry terminal.
Northbound trips to Northgate will operate via S Jackson St, 1st Ave and Seneca St to 3rd Ave and regular routing. It will serve the bus stops westbound on S Jackson St just east of Occidental Ave S, northbound on 1st Ave at S Jackson St, Yesler Way, Marion St and Seneca St and on Seneca St between 2nd and 3rd avenues. Routes 16 and 66 will no longer operate on Yesler Way between Alaskan Way and 3rd Ave, and on 3rd Ave between Yesler Way and Seneca St.
Route 21
On Saturday, one southbound trip to Westwood Village leaving 3rd Ave & Pike St at 7:30 pm will be added.
Route 22
Route 22 will be extended further west and south in Arbor Heights. It will operate a counter-clockwise loop via SW 100th St, 44th Ave SW, Marine View Dr SW, SW 106th St, 39th Ave SW and 35th Ave SW to SW 106th SW and regular routing to the Alaska Junction. It will no longer operate a clockwise loop via 26th Ave SW, SW 106th St, 35th Ave SW and SW Roxbury St in Shorewood.
The schedule will be adjusted for the added running time of about 7 minutes.
Route 30
On nights and weekends, eastbound Route 30 trips to NE 65th St & Sand Point Way NE will operate via NE 64th St, NE Radford Dr and NE 65th St, serving a new bus stop just east of Sand Point Way NE before continuing to the U-District. It will no longer operate westbound on NE 65th St and southbound on 40th Ave NE.
Route 40
On weekdays, two northbound trips to Northgate leaving 4th Ave S & S Jackson St at 10:30 and 11:30 pm will be added. On Saturday, two northbound trips at 10:15 and 11:15 pm, and on Sunday, two northbound trips at 10:10 and 11:10 pm will also be added.
Route 41
On weekdays, one southbound trip to downtown Seattle leaving Lake City at 9:45 pm and one northbound trip to Lake City leaving International District Station at 10:40 pm will be added.
On Saturday, southbound trips at 7:32 am and 5:50, 6:20, 6:50 and 10:19 pm, and northbound trips at 8:26 am and 6:27, 6:57, 7:27, 7:57 and 10:42 pm will be added. On Sunday, one southbound trip at 8:51 pm and one northbound trip at 9:56 pm will be added.
Route 48
The first northbound Route 48 Express trip to Loyal Heights leaving 15th Ave NE & NE 45th St at 3:18 pm will be converted to a local trip.
On weekdays, one southbound trip to the Mount Baker TC leaving Loyal Heights at 12:10 am will be added. On Saturday, one northbound trip to Loyal Heights leaving the Mount Baker TC at 12:06 and 6:06 am, and one southbound trip at 11:58 pm will be added.
The southbound 6:19 am trip leaving 15th Ave NE & NE 65th St will be revised to leave Loyal Heights at 5:59 am.
On Sunday, three northbound trips at 12:06 and 6:16 am, and 11:16 pm will be added. The northbound trip leaving the Mount Baker TC at 11:31 am will be revised to leave 15 minutes later at 11:46 pm. Two southbound trips at 6:02 am and 11:59 pm will be added and the southbound trip leaving Loyal Heights at 11:38 pm will be revised to leave nine minutes earlier at 11:29 pm.
Route 49
On weekends, the southbound trips to downtown Seattle leaving the U-District at 12:04 am Saturday and 12:05 am Sunday will be revised to leave at 12:20 am both days.
Routes 64/193
Routes 64 and 193 will be revised to operate on Boren Ave, Broadway and Spruce St to 9th Ave and regular routing on Jefferson St. These routes will no longer operate westbound on James St and southbound on 9th Ave, and will not serve the bus stop just north of Jefferson St (near Harborview Medical Center).
Route 66 See Route 16
Route 70
On Saturdays only, northbound Route 70 trips to the U-District will be rerouted via NE 45th St, 11th Ave NE, and NE 47th St due to the relocation of the U-District Farmers Market to University Way NE between NE 50th St and NE 52nd St. Route 70 will not operate on 15th Ave NE north of NE 45th St, or on NE 50th St and Brooklyn Ave NE.
Southbound trips will operate via NE 45th St to 15th Ave NE and regular routing to downtown Seattle. Route 70 will not operate on NE 52nd St, University Way NE, NE 50th St and 15th Ave NE north of NE 45th St.
Routes 71, 72, 73
On Saturdays only, northbound routes 71, 72 and 73 will be rerouted via 15th Ave NE between NE 50th St and Cowen Pl NE due to the relocation of the U-District Farmers Market to University Way NE between NE 50th St and NE 52nd St. These routes will not operate via University Way NE between NE 50th St and Cowen Pl NE.
Southbound trips will operate via 15th Ave NE and NE 50th St to University Way NE and regular routing to downtown Seattle. These routes will not operate on University Way NE between Cowen Pl NE and NE 50th St.
Route 99
For about the next three years, southbound Route 99 trips to the International District will move from Alaskan Way to 1st Ave due to the Elliott Bay Seawall and SR-99 deep bore tunnel construction projects.
Southbound Route 99 trips to the International District will operate via Elliott Ave, Wall St and 1st Ave to S Jackson St and regular routing. It will serve a new bus stop southbound on Elliot Ave just south of Broad St, and the bus stops on 1st Ave at Wall, Lenora, Union and Marion streets, and Yesler Way.
Also, the route 99 schedule will be revised to coincide with South Sounder train service at King Street Station.
Route 110
Select Route 110 trips have been changed at Tukwila Station to coincide with the revised Sounder train schedule. Revised morning trips are scheduled to arrive at 6:17, 6:47, 7:07, 7:46 and 8:11 am. Revised afternoon trips arrive at 3:17, 3:47, 4:17, 4:55 and 5:47 pm.
Route 120
On weekdays, one northbound trip to downtown Seattle leaving the Burien TC at 10:34 pm and one southbound trip to Burien leaving 3rd Ave & Virginia St at 10:33 and 11:39 pm will be added. On Saturday, four northbound trips at 7:27 am and 5:36, 6:07 and 6:37 pm, and four southbound trips at 9:08 am and 6:38, 7:08 and 10:54 pm will be added. The northbound trip leaving the Burien TC at 7:20 am will be revised to leave 8 minutes earlier at 7:12 am.
On Sunday, a northbound trip at 6:32 am and a southbound trip at 10:54 pm will be added. The northbound trip leaving the Burien TC at 6:11 am will be revised to leave 10 minutes earlier at 6:01 am.
Route 139
The first trip to Gregory Heights leaving the Burien TC at 5:37 am will be discontinued. Riders can board Route 123 leaving at 5:42 am for alternative service to Gregory Heights.
Route 140
In anticipation of the launch of RapidRide “F Line” in June 2014, Route 140 will be extended to Renton Boeing and The Landing. It will operate via Logan Ave N, Park Ave N and Garden Ave N and will no longer serve Bay 8 at the Renton TC. Instead, it will stop at Bay 2 before continuing north to South Lake Washington and at Bay 3 before continuing south to Burien.
Route 152
The northbound trip to downtown Seattle leaving Auburn Station at 7:45 am and the southbound trip to Auburn leaving 5th Ave & Blanchard St at 5:26 pm will be discontinued.
Route 154
Selected Route 154 trips have been changed at Tukwila Station to coincide with the revised Sounder train schedule. Revised morning trips are scheduled to arrive at 6:16 and 7:26 am. Afternoon trips arrive at 3:17, 3:47, 4:17 and 4:57 pm.
Routes 155, DART 906
Route 155 will be converted to a dial-a-ride (DART) service and renumbered Route 906. During the weekday peak periods, DART Route 906 will operate the same routing as Route 155 including the loop through Fairwood. Off-peak service will operate a fixed routing between Southcenter and Fairwood Center. Past Fairwood Center, DART Route 906 will operate, by request only, through Fairwood during non-peak periods weekdays and on Saturday.
Route 156
With new DART Route 906 replacing Route 155, Route 156 will operate as a stand-alone route between Highline CC and Southcenter. On weekdays and Saturday, Route 156 will operate to and from the bus stop southbound on Andover Park W just south of Baker Blvd.
Route 169
Southbound Route 169 trips to Kent will leave from Bay 8 instead of Bay 2 at the Renton TC.
Route 180
Select Route 180 trips have been changed at Auburn Station to coincide with the revised Sounder train schedule. Northbound morning trips to Burien leaving A St SE & 41st Ave SE at 6:23 and 6:49 am will be revised to leave at 6:21 and 6:41 am, arriving at Auburn Station at 6:40 and 7 am. Afternoon trips to southeast Auburn leaving Auburn Station at 4:04, 5:02, 5:19 and 6:33 pm will leave instead at 4:14, 5:06, 5:26 and 6:43 pm.
Route 186
Selected Route 186 trips have been changed at Auburn Station to coincide with the revised Sounder train schedule. Revised morning trips are scheduled to arrive at Auburn Station at 5:48, 6:37 and 6:57 am. Afternoon trips arrive at 6:49 and 7:15 pm.
Revised morning trips are scheduled to leave Auburn Station at 4:20, 4:50 and 5:28 am, and an afternoon trip leaves at 5:44 pm.
Also, a new westbound trip to Auburn leaving Enumclaw at 7:10 pm will be added. The first morning trip to Enumclaw leaving Auburn at 5:34 am will be discontinued.
Route 187
On weekdays, the southbound trips to Twin Lakes leaving the Federal Way TC at 10:31 and 11:14 pm will be discontinued. The last trip to Twin Lakes will leave the Federal Way TC at 9:32 pm.
Route 193 See also Route 64
Route 208 NEW ROUTE
On weekdays and Saturday, new Route 208 will provide all-day service between North Bend and Issaquah via Snoqualmie Ridge. Route 208 will replace Route 209 on Boalch Ave NW and NW 14th St in North Bend.
Route 209 revised
All Route 209 trips will be converted to Route 208 trips except for three morning trips leaving North Bend at 5:08, 6:10 and 7:30 am and three afternoon trips leaving the Issaquah TC at 4:41, 5:44 and 6:36 pm. Route 209 will no longer operate on Saturdays.
Alternative service between Fall City, Snoqualmie and North Bend will be provided by the new Snoqualmie Valley Transportation (SVT) shuttle.
Route 210
Route 210 trips to downtown Seattle will be revised to serve the Eastgate P&R, Bay 1, in the morning and will no longer serve the bus stop on the westbound on-ramp to I-90 just west of Richards Road. This deviation to the Eastgate P&R will increase travel time by 5–8 minutes.
Eastbound trips to Issaquah will serve the Eastgate Freeway Station, Bay 4, in the afternoon.
Route 211
Route 211 will serve the Eastgate Freeway Stations, westbound at Bay 3 and eastbound at Bay 4, and will no longer stop at bays 1 and 2 at the Eastgate P&R. Also, it will no longer stop at the bus stops westbound on the I-90 on-ramp just west of Richards Road and at the South Bellevue P&R, Bay 2.
These changes will improve travel time by 8-10 minutes in each direction. Service frequency will remain the same and scheduled connections with Sounder commuter trains to and from South King County will continue.
Route 212
Four morning and four afternoon trips will be discontinued. These eight trips will be replaced with the same number of trips on Route 210 so the level of service between the Eastgate P&R and downtown Seattle will remain the same.
Route 214
Two morning and three afternoon trips will be added to offset the loss of Route 215 service at the Issaquah TC. Also, Route 214 service between the Issaquah TC and downtown Issaquah will be reduced to six trips in the morning and six in the afternoon.
Route 215
Route 215 will no longer serve the Issaquah TC in either direction.
Route 216
Route 216 will be revised to operate via Highlands Dr NE and Issaquah Pine Lake Rd NE, serving the Issaquah Highlands P&R. It will no longer operate in North Issaquah between I-90 and the South Sammamish P&R.
Also, eastbound Route 216 trips to the Bear Creek P&R will serve the Eastgate Freeway Station, Bay 4.
Route 218
Five morning and nine afternoon trips will be discontinued and converted to new Route 219 service. In combination with routes 216 and 219, there will be six additional morning and afternoon trips between the Issaquah Highlands P&R and downtown Seattle.
Route 219 NEW ROUTE
New Route 219 provides weekday peak period service between downtown Seattle and Redmond via the Issaquah Highlands P&R. It will operate in the downtown Seattle transit tunnel and follow the same routing as Route 218, but will continue past Issaquah Highlands to serve the South Sammamish P&R and Sammamish.
Westbound trips to downtown Seattle will serve the Eastgate Freeway Station, Bay 3, in the morning only.
Route 221
One northbound trip to Redmond leaving the Eastgate P&R at 7:47 pm and one southbound trip to Eastgate leaving the Redmond TC at 7:47 pm will be discontinued.
Route 224
Route 224 will be revised to operate between Redmond and Duvall only and will serve an expanded portion of Redmond Ridge via NE Cedar Park Crescent and Eastridge Dr NE. Weekday service frequency between Redmond and Duvall will improve to about every 90-minutes.
Route 224 will no longer operate between Duvall, Carnation and Fall City. Alternate service between Duvall and Fall City will be provided by the new Snoqualmie Valley Transportation (SVT) Shuttle.
Routes 234, DART 935
Routes 234 and DART 935 will operate via the Kenmore P&R and will no longer serve the Northshore P&R.
Route 246
During the weekday peak periods, service frequency will be reduced from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes.
Route 249
On weekdays, mid-day service frequency will be reduced from every 30 minutes to every 45 to 60-minutes.
Route 250
Two westbound trips to downtown Seattle leaving the Overlake TC at 5:33 and 6:07 am and two eastbound trips to Overlake leaving downtown Seattle at 3:29 and 6:29 pm will be discontinued.
Route 311
Route 311 will be revised to operate between downtown Seattle and Woodinville only. It will no longer operate between the Woodinville and Duvall park-and-rides. Routes 232 and DART 931 also serve this portion of the route.

Route 330
Route 330 service frequency will change to every 60 minutes and will provide an all day service to Shoreline CC when the majority of classes are in session. It will operate to Shoreline CC between about 7 am and 7:05 pm and to Lake City between 7:30 am and 7:45 pm.
Also, an eastbound trip to Shoreline CC leaving Lake City at about 7:27 am is scheduled to arrive at Shorecrest High School before the 7:50 am class start time.
Route 331
Two trips to Shoreline CC leaving the Aurora Village TC at 7:36 and 8:33 am will be revised to leave at 8:01 and 9 am instead.
Route 342
Route 342 trips to Shoreline P&R will no longer serve the northbound Coal Creek Parkway Freeway Station. Route 114 to downtown Seattle will continue to stop here.
Route 358
On Saturday, mid-day service frequency will improve to every 12 minutes. Also, northbound Route 358 trips to Aurora Village will no longer serve the bus stop westbound on S Jackson St just west of 5th Ave S. Instead, the first northbound bus stop will be eastbound on S Main St just west of 2nd Ave Ext S in Pioneer Square.
DART 906 See Route 155
DART 909
To better serve Renton Technical College and the Renton Housing Authority, DART Route 909 will operate via NE 7th St, Monroe Ave NE and NE 10th St between Harrington Ave NE and Sunset Blvd NE. It will no longer operate on Harrington Ave NE between NE 7th St and NE 10th St.
DART 913
Selected DART Route 913 trips have been changed to coincide with the revised Sounder train schedule. Revised morning trips to Kent Boeing are scheduled to leave Kent Station at 6:10, 7, 7:39 and 8:05 am. Revised morning trips to Kent Station leave Riverside Blvd S & S 212th St at 5:40, 6:31, 8 and 8:26 am.
Revised afternoon trips to Kent Boeing leave Kent Station at 3:14, 3:43, 4:21 and 5:06 pm. Revised afternoon trips to Kent Station leave Riverside Blvd S & S 212th St at 3, 3:30, 3:59, 4:37 and 5:22 pm.
New Snoqualmie Valley Transportation (SVT) Shuttle begins
As part of a five-year demonstration project, Metro has contracted with Snoqualmie Valley Transportation to operate a new shuttle service in the Snoqualmie Valley. On weekdays, the shuttle will operate about every 90 minutes on a fixed route between Duvall, Carnation, Fall City, Snoqualmie and North Bend, and also provide service on request within flexible routing areas in Duvall and North Bend. New Route 208 will serve North Bend and Issaquah weekdays and Saturdays.
The SVT shuttle will operate via NE Big Rock Road, Carnation-Duvall Road NE, Fall City-Carnation Road SE, SE Fall City-Carnation Road, Railroad Ave NE and W North Bend Way, and serve the Snoqualmie Casino and Snoqualmie Valley Hospital. There is no set fare for this service but donations will be requested.

First off, thank you very much for adding new routes (219). I live in sammamish and my options in the morning and after work were VERY limited.
But with the 219 and 216 stopping at Issaquah highlands, each bus is PACKED to the brim as it moves through the tunnels. Yesterday I had to watch 3 buses (two 219’s and a 216) go by full and when I got one it was standing room only for an hour’s ride.
Once we got to Issaquah, the bus emptied to 10% capacity. Please consider a route change that skips issaquah highlands P&R on the ride home while still using the highlands to avoid lights and traffic. I was over 40 minutes late home because of this new schedule and my fellow riders felt the same.
It is really pathetic to see the new timings for 219 and 216. You have not added any new service from South Sammamish P&R to Downtown seattle between 8:09 and 8:37. Not sure what the science behind these timings are.
