For those traveling during the holidays,  Metro buses will operate Sunday schedules on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. Details are posted on Metro’s holiday and reduced service page.

From Dec. 26-29, some buses will operate on reduced weekday schedules. On days with reduced weekday schedules, some commuter and school-oriented routes do not operate, and other routes have individual trips canceled. When the University of Washington is not in session, there are some bus trip reductions on routes that serve campus.

More information is available on Metro’s holiday and reduced service page.

Metro will usher in 2018 with free rides for all customers on New Years’ Eve  from 4 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1. People celebrating or working late will also be able to take the Seattle Streetcar for free, and Sound Transit Link light rail will be extending service.

Metro offices, including the Customer Information phone line at (206) 553-3000 and Lost and Found and Pass Sales counters, will be closed Dec. 25, and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 26.

Metro wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season!
