Traveling to downtown Seattle on Tuesday? It’s the first work day since the SR 99 tolling launched this weekend AND thousands of Sounders fans are expected for a noontime parade (from Westlake Park) and 1:30 p.m. rally at (Seattle Center).

We’re recommending folks plan for a 100% increase of smiles, high-fives and Sounders scarves downtown – and potentially longer travel times on city streets and highways.

If you can, please plan to give yourself more travel time and maybe catch an earlier bus or train, or avoid traveling during the peak commute times in the morning and afternoon. Find out how your route will be affected and read some travel tips? We have some reroutes in store for 13 bus routes during the parade, listed in our transit alert.

We’re closely monitoring traffic conditions on city streets and the highways during this first week of tolling so that our friends at the Seattle Department of Transportation and the Washington State Department of Transportation can help keep buses moving smoothly.
