The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) Executive Board on Thursday approved distribution of $258.2 million in relief funds to King County Metro. This amount is a portion of the $580 million provided to the region’s transit agencies from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 (CRRSAA).
Under federal legislation, the PSRC has project selection authority for all projects using regional funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). PSRC worked with leaders from the region’s nine transit agencies to develop the funding recommendation after discussion of the unique situation and needs due to the pandemic.
