King County Metro is proud to announce a standout employee in our Vehicle Maintenance Division. Robert Dargan was named Metro’s 2022 Vehicle Maintenance Employee of the Year!
Dargan was surprised with the honor at a ceremony Sept. 8 at Metro’s East Base in Bellevue by King County Executive Dow Constantine, Metro General Manager Terry White and Vehicle Maintenance leadership staff.
Vehicle Maintenance employees are recognized at Metro’s seven transit bases and our Component Supply Center throughout the year, and in turn they choose the “Best of the Best” to be the Vehicle Maintenance Employee of the Year.
Dargan began his career with King County in May 1999 as Transit Mechanic and has been providing excellent service at King County Metro in this position.
Dargan is highly skilled mechanic, consistently performs his work every day and demonstrates his skills and attention to detail. Dargan has a very professional approach to his mechanical duties and is willing to take on hard to find repairs, fleet projects seeing the work through to completion. He adds strength and integrity to our agency and the service Metro provide to the public. Dargan performs cost effective repairs and always steps up to meet the needs of our organization.
Dedicated to helping his fellow co-worker and to keep Vehicle Maintenance moving, Dargan works tirelessly to repair buses and always steps up when needed. Base Chief Steve Blackwell called Dargan a “go to employee,” well respected by his peers, and always available to mentor others.
Dargan received a plaque recognizing his achievement and a monogrammed jacket designating him as the Employee of the Year. He also will receive public recognition of the award when his image is placed on bus cards both inside and outside on Metro coaches.
