Taking transit to Kenny Chesney ‘That’s the good stuff!’

Avatar on stage with guitar and cowboy hat with the sun going down in the background

If you’re heading down to Lumen Field on Saturday night to enjoy the fun of Kenny Chesney’s “Sun Goes Down” tour, but the sister’s got my car, can we make a suggestion? You don’t need to swim upstream in a ragin’ river, just take transit to the show!!

If you are part of the “No Shoes Nation,” getting to Lumen and saving yourself the stress of driving and the cost of parking doesn’t have to be your wildest dreams.

If you’re wanting to soak up life for a while in laid back mode as you make your way to the show, here’s some steps:

Plan your route:  You can start with a visit to Metro’s Trip Planner, or use third-party apps such as “One Bus Away,” Apple Maps or Google Maps. You can also call to Metro’s Customer Service at 206-553-3000 on weekdays, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Press 1 for an interpreter, you’ll have them from hello.

Bus routes: Our buses can’t talk, but Metro and Sound Transit bus routes 150, 545, 550, 554, as well as RapidRide Lines C, D, E, and H will have more buses running to meet rider demand after the concert. A great tool for the concert, and for whenever you’re riding transit, is our Text for Departures (text your bus stop number to 62550 to see the next departure times for your route).

Light Rail: The Sound Transit 1 Line will operate their regular weekend schedule, with extra trains available if needed to serve crowds. The last northbound train will leave Stadium Station (Sixth Avenue and Royal Brougham) at 12:30 a.m. and the last Southbound train will depart Stadium Station at 12:46 a.m.

Trains: Sound Transit will operate the Sounder Train for the concert. The S line to King Street Station will leave from Lakewood at 2:11 p.m. The N Line heading to Seattle from Everett will leave at 2:45 p.m.

Transit map: Whether coming into Seattle from the north, south, east, or west, our transit wayfinder map for the stadium area is a handy guide on how you can take transit to get to the concert, showing both bus routes and ways to connect to Sound Transit Link light rail.

Crowds are expected before and especially after the concert. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Fare payment options: Be sure to have your ORCA card or Transit GO ticket ready to go for faster boardings because you don’t want to miss one minute!

Remember, every fan 18 and younger can ride transit for free.

Uncle Kenny’s hotter when the sun goes down, but you can stay cool riding transit!
