Suspect in custody for the homicide of Metro Transit Operator Shawn Yim
King County Metro received confirmation that the suspect in the homicide of Metro Transit Operator Shawn Yim was found and taken into custody without incident on December 21 at 4:43 a.m.
Following a tip from a Metro bus operator, the suspect was apprehended while sleeping on a RapidRide E Line bus at 3rd Avenue and Main Street in downtown Seattle. The suspect was identified by the Seattle Police Department and Metro Transit Police.
I want to share my sincere gratitude to the heroic and swift actions of Metro employees and am very thankful to law enforcement for their diligent efforts.

I wouldn’t blame the drivers if they went on strike until safety concerns were addressed and met.
It would be a hardship, but I would still support my drivers. They mean a lot to me. They are unfailingly courteous. Just tonight, I saw some drunk screaming at the driver….it left me shaken. THEY NEED TO BE SAFE.
Exactly they need to be Safe and if you think driving a bus is Easy I couldn’t Do It 😔
