Feb. 6 snow update: Snow reroutes in effect across King County
Overnight snow and freezing temperatures have created worsening roadway conditions across the region and King County Metro has shifted buses to snow routes on Thursday, Feb. 6.
Some routes are experiencing trip cancellations and we are sending transit alerts to riders via email and text, and also listing them in our service advisories table.
Before traveling, riders are encouraged to:
- Visit Metro’s service advisories page for the latest information on how your Metro and Sound Transit routes are affected.
- Sign up for transit alerts for your favorite routes to receive updates via email and text.
- Text for Departures can provide useful information to riders in the event a trip is canceled. Text your stop number to 62550. Estimated departure times are less accurate due to winter weather and roadway conditions.
- Hours are extended at Metro’s Customer Information Office, with staff available 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, for trip planning assistance. Call 206-553-3000.
- If you must travel, prepare for service delays, allow additional travel time and explore alternate transit routes in your area.
- Transit customers are advised to wait for buses at posted bus stops on flat portions of cleared arterials or at major transfer points, such as park-and-ride lots and transit centers where there may be multiple service options.
- Our winter travel tips are available in (Ukrainian), and Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese).
