Bus stop changes for Fremont routes 31, 32, 40 and 62

Map showing bus routes 31, 32, 40 and 62 rerouting around construction and traveling on North 34th and 35th Streets

Starting Monday, May 12, King County Metro buses in Fremont will be rerouted with some bus stop changes. The Seattle Department of Transportation is starting watermain upgrades on Fremont Avenue North between North 34th and 35th streets.

Routes 31, 32, 40 and 62 will have a handful of stop changes that are expected to last through the rest of 2025. By rerouting buses and relocating bus stops, we will help keep buses and riders on schedule while avoiding major construction areas.

  • Northbound Route 40: The northbound bus stop on Fremont Avenue North will be closed. Service will be relocated to Fremont Place North and North 36th Street near the Lenin statue.
  • Eastbound routes 31, 32 and northbound Route 62: The northbound bus stop on Fremont Avenue North will be closed. Service will be relocated to a temporary bus zone eastbound on North 35th Street just east of Fremont Avenue North.
  • Westbound routes 31, 32 and southbound Route 62: Buses will not serve westbound North 35th Street west of Stone Way North. They will instead travel south on Stone Way North and west on North 34th Street. There will be a temporary bus stop southbound on Stone Way North between North 35th Street and North 34th Street.
  • Westbound routes 31, 32, and southbound 40 and 62: The southbound bus stop on Fremont Avenue North between North 34th and 35th streets will be relocated approximately 300-400 feet south.
  • Details: View a map of route changes or a PDF map of route changes. We will post maps and rider alerts at affected bus stops. Route details soon will be posted on our Service Advisories web page for each affected route.
