With summer only weeks away, the Free Youth Transit Pass is your connection to arcades, friends, jobs, parks, pools, stadiums, zoos and much more. But spending time at fun places with great people means going off-line and getting out there—and King County Metro is here to help!

That’s why Metro and other regional transit agencies launched the “Escape the Scroll” advertising campaign. The commercial’s youth stars are transported from the addictive boredom of their smartphones to real-life excitement through the magic of their Free Youth Transit Pass.

On Friday, May 23, the “Escape the Scroll” commercial began appearing before feature films at 18 movie theaters throughout King County. The debut aligned with domestic box office ticket sales breaking all-time records for Memorial Day Weekend.

“Escape the Scroll” is also airing across Hulu, Netflix, Twitch and YouTube. Digital advertising with a matching “retro videogame” aesthetic is running on websites, too. The campaign is reaching youth and showing them adventures near and far that are only a free ride away.

Visit FreeYouthTransitPass.com to get a pass for unlimited free transit all-year-round until you turn 19. Free youth transit includes the King County Water Taxi, Metro bus, Metro Flex, the Seattle Monorail, the Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit buses and Link light rail, and the Washington State Ferry (pedestrian or bicycle only), as well as on Community Transit, Everett Transit, Kitsap Transit and Pierce Transit.
