Seattle is going to be part of one of the largest sporting events in the world, with hundreds of thousands of soccer fans coming from every corner of the earth to cheer for their favorite teams and players.

King County Metro has a vital role in getting people to Seattle Soccer Stadium for this international tournament. We’ve been actively preparing over the last 18 months to meet the moment. Strong coordination is critical for an event of this scale.

Metro will be boosting bus and water taxi service and adding special downtown shuttles so we can continue to be your top choice for riding to work, shopping, medical appointments and other big events such as Mariners baseball and Ed Sheeran! We’ll post new Metro Matters blogs to help you navigate Seattle’s Soccer Summer—along with other useful tips.

Metro connects you every day

Metro provides a number of transit options both on land and on water, and for those who have mobility challenges that might prevent you from boarding a bus. Here’s where you can find out more about these services:

Bus: Metro has bus routes that can take you from downtown Seattle to the base of the Cascades

King County Water Taxi: Sail the Salish Sea to the communities of West Seattle and Vashon

Access Paratransit: For those unable to use traditional transit because of a disability

Metro Flex: On-demand neighborhood transit service

Dial a Ride (DART): Smaller transit vehicles service specific routes

Transit partners expand your travel options

Getting to and from Seattle Soccer Stadium will involve transit systems connecting four counties and a number of cities throughout the Puget Sound region. Whether you’re coming to downtown Seatle from Tacoma, Tukwila, Puyallup, Bellevue, Bremerton, Burien, Everett, Lynnwood or Shoreline, Metro and five other transit agencies are ready to help you get there:

(Lynnwood and Edmonds)

Everett Transit

(Bremerton and Pt. Orchard)

(Tacoma and Puyallup)

(Connecting King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties by rail and bus)

Is that a fact?

They are the two biggest sports events in the world, but which is bigger? The Olympics or the tournament coming to the U.S., Canada and Mexico?

The International Olympic Committee said an estimated 5 billion fans watched the 2024 Paris Games.

In 2022, 5 billion fans watched Argentina defeat France on penalty kicks in Qatar.

No overtime in these games—I think we can declare this match a draw!
