If you’re excited about the start of RapidRide service in Bellevue and Redmond this Saturday (10/1/11), here’s how you can mark the occasion:
1. Come to a pre-launch event on Wednesday (9/28/11), at 10:30 a.m. in the west parking lot of Crossroads Shopping Center (in front of Half Price Books).
2. Ride the B Line for free all weekend (10/1 and 10/2), and keep your eye out for RapidRide Man, who will be handing out some nifty folding pocket maps showing the new central Eastside transit network.

This wouldn’t happen to be in the photograph Phoenix Jones, would it?
Hmmmmm ….. (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2016527401_apusreallifesuperheroes.html)
I just talked to someone at Metro who said my commute from Bellevue to Seattle, which now takes 25 to 30 minutes, will now take anywhere from 40 to 50 minutes.
How is that a “RapidRide”?
Could you tell me the pre-launch event will end at what time?
thanks
There’s no set ending time, but the planner expects it to last about half an hour, give or take. For more info, see today’s post.
Besides the pre-launch event today, will there be another celebration in both Bellevue and Redmond Transit Center during the first weekend of B Line?
No stationary celebrations as such. The “party” will be on the buses themselves, with free rides all weekend and visits by RapidRide Man, who will hand out information – including our new “Big Little” service maps.
