Due to upcoming City of Seattle construction, Route 40 will travel different streets starting July 22 and continuing through summer 2014.

The City of Seattle will be working on North 105th Street, North/Northeast Northgate Way improvement project which will restrict traffic flow in the area. (Crews are scheduled to begin July 25.)

To keep Route 40 moving during work, Metro will reroute the eastbound trips off of North 105th Street and will instead travel on nearby streets. One stop (No. 40065) will close on eastbound North 105th Street east of Fremont Avenue North starting July 22, 2013. The stop will remain closed through the first phase of this construction project until December 2013. Riders will need to use alternate stops located to the west of Greenwood Avenue North or to the east of Aurora Avenue North. Some adjustments may be made to westbound stops to accommodate construction, but there are no planned stop closures or routing changes at this time.

This reroute may cause delays for riders and will affect where you get on and off the bus, so please watch your stops for closure information. To minimize delays, we may change the reroute path during construction, so stay tuned as construction continues.

The map shows the reroute during phase one of this project. To get to destinations along North 105th Street, ask the bus driver for assistance or use Metro’s Trip Planner or call Metro Customer Information, 206-553-3000.
