Trailhead Direct will not serve Mailbox Peak on Saturday, 7/28
Heads up if you’re hiking this weekend: Trailhead DirectĀ service to Mailbox Peak will not operate this Saturday.
Saturday is the first of three days scheduled this summer that Trailhead Direct will not serve the popular hiking destination. Other dates are Sunday, August 19 and Saturday, August 25. (The trail will still be open).
Those traveling to the area should plan accordingly.
Trailhead Direct normally operates between the Mailbox Peak trailhead and a satellite parking lot at Twin Falls Middle School near North Bend. It is intended to reduce unsafe overcrowding at the Mailbox Peak parking lot.
Except for the three days referenced above, transit vans are scheduled to depart every 20 minutes during weekends and holidays.
If you’re looking for other hiking options this weekend, consider takingĀ Trailhead Direct – Mount Si to eitherĀ Mount Si TrailheadĀ orĀ Mount Teneriffe Trailhead,Ā or check outĀ Granite Creek TrailheadĀ further down the Middle Fork Road.

Is there a transit option to Granite Creek Trailhead from Seattle? You list it as an alternative to Mailbox, but I cannot tell if metro will take customers there.
Thank you!
