Since 1988, volunteer artists, young and old, from around King County, the U.S. and beyond have painted murals and created photographic artworks for over 2,000 bus shelters. Today, there are around 1,300 art installations spanning the region, creating the largest art gallery (by acreage) in King County.

Our Bus Shelter Mural Program is a great example of the hidden benefits of Metro. This project beautifies our neighborhoods, helps deter vandalism, and connects communities to public art.
