We learned with great sadness that a King County resident passed away this weekend from COVED-19 after contracting novel coronavirus, and additional cases are being identified by public health officials daily.
We want to reassure the public that King County and Metro are actively tracking this public health crisis and coordinating with experts at Public Health and the state Department of Health.
At this time, transit service will continue to operate as scheduled. Metro crews are cleaning buses daily, and in the event of an unsanitary condition, our continuing practice is remove a bus from service to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfecting before it returns to service.
That is just one part of the equation. Just as important as cleaning the bus, we are asking people who are out in the public – at work, schools, grocery stores, events – and needing to travel by bus to please follow the direction of Public Health officials.
If you are experiencing symptoms of the virus, it is essential for the health and well-being of the community for you to please stay home or telework, cover all coughs and sneezes, avoid touching parts of your face to avoid picking up the virus and wash your hands frequently.

Please turn down the fan on the bus so when someone sneezes or coughs the droplets will not travel far.
Masks aren’t for your protection from those around you. They are to protect those around you from you.

Please advise metro drivers issuing transfer slips to passengers, not to wet their fingers before tearing off the transfer slip.
Stopping bums shitting on the buses would be awesome
Metro likes the bums, it lets them ride for free while we have to pay.
Suggestion for Metro: please have a box of disposable masks available at the bus entry for riders who have cold or viral symptoms (like the ones hospitals & doctors offices have in waiting rooms). There is no way to keep sick people iff the bus, but these would help increase public safety for riders and the driver ).
Please at least suggest drivers to put on mask, as they are exposed to large number of people. Also this can encourage many people who want to wear musk but are afraid of trouble

It’s my understanding that masks aren’t that effective for continued use out in public. Unless you yourself are feeling I’ll, don’t bother with a mask. Save them for doctors and nurses to use
