Updated: Route temporarily canceled? Here’s help from transit planners

(Editor’s note, 6/18/20: Metro will add back some service beginning June 22, 2020. Please go to kingcounty.gov/ReducedSchedule for the latest information or to “Service ramping up June 22, but some routes remain cut: Updated options to help riders” for revised alternate transit options.)

A new round of temporary service cuts, route and trip cancellations begin April 18.

With weekend service now affected, and more cancellations coming on weekdays, Metro transit planners have updated this guide with their list of options to help keep you moving on public transportation during this challenging time.

Seattle-Shoreline

Route 5X (canceled)

• Along Greenwood Ave N and/or Phinney Ave N, use the Route 5 to/from downtown Seattle.

Route 9 (canceled)

• Along Rainier Ave S, use Routes 7 or 106.
• Between Rainier Valley and First Hill, use Link or routes 7 or 106 and transfer to/from the First Hill Streetcar or Route 60 at S Jackson St and 12^th Ave S.

Route 15 (canceled)

• Along 15^th Ave NW, use the RapidRide D Line between Ballard and downtown Seattle.

Route 17 (canceled)

• From 32^nd Ave NW, use the Route 40 along 24^th Ave NW between Ballard and downtown Seattle.

• Between Alki and downtown Seattle, the water taxi is operating limited weekday-only service.
• From Alki Point, use Route 50 and connect to the RapidRide C Line at Alaska Junction or Link light rail or routes 101 or 150 at SODO Station.

Route 47 (canceled)

• Walk or roll to/from E John St/Olive Way and use routes 10 or 43.
• Walk or roll to/from Broadway and use Route 49.
• Walk or roll to/from the Capitol Hill Link station (Broadway and John St) and use Link light rail or the First Hill Streetcar

Route 55 (canceled)

• At Alaska Junction, use the RapidRide C Line to/from downtown Seattle.
• In Admiral, use Route 128 or Route 50 and connect with the RapidRide C Line at Alaska Junction.

• No service will operate on 16^th Ave SW

Route 301 (canceled)

• From the Hillwood area, use Route 331 to the Aurora Village Transit Center.
• Weekdays: On N 175^th St, walk or roll or use the Route 373 to Aurora Ave N, or use Route 303 to/from south downtown or First Hill.
• At the Aurora Village Transit Center or on Aurora Ave N, use the RapidRide E Line to/from Downtown Seattle.

Route 304 (canceled)

• On NW Richmond Beach Rd, use Route 348 to/from Northgate and connect with Route 41 to/from downtown Seattle; or connect with the RapidRide E Line at Aurora Ave N.
• On Dayton Ave N north of N 160^th St, use Route 331 (continuing as Route 345) to/from Northgate and connect with Route 41 to/from downtown Seattle.

• Use ST Route 522 to/from downtown Seattle. In addition to its regular stops, Route ST 522 will serve all stops normally served by Metro Route 312 on Lake City Way NE and NE Bothell Way. On Beardslee Blvd, use stops at Bothell P&R and UW Bothell/Cascadia College.

Route 316 (canceled)

• North of N 130^th St, use Route 346.
• South of N 130^th St, use Route 345 or 346.
• For service to/from Green Lake, connect with Route 26 on N 92^nd St at Corliss Ave N.
• For service to/from downtown Seattle, connect with Route 41 at Northgate Transit Center.

Route 330 (canceled) 

• No service will be stopping on N 160^th St, N/NE 155^th St, NE 150^th St, or 25^th Ave NE in the Parkwood, Ridgecrest, and Fircrest neighborhoods of Shoreline.
• Routes 345 and 348 and routes 346 and 347 connect with one another at the Northgate Transit Center. Routes 41 and 75 connect the Northgate Transit Center and Lake City.

Route 355 (canceled)

• Along Greenwood Ave N between Shoreline Community College and N 85^th St use Route 5 to/from downtown Seattle.
• Along N 85^th St, use Route 45 to connect with Link at the UW Station to downtown Seattle, or use Route 5 along Greenwood Ave N, the RapidRide E Line along Aurora Ave N, or the Route 26 along Wallingford Ave N to downtown Seattle.
• Between the U District and downtown Seattle, use Route 70.

Route 773 (canceled)

• No Service will operate on Harbor Ave SW.
• Use Route 128 on California Ave SW. Use the RapidRide C Line SW Avalon Way and SW Alaska St.

• No replacement service will be available.

• In Southeast Seattle, use routes 7, 8, 14, 36, 48, 50, 60, 106, or 107.

South Lake Union Streetcar (canceled)

• Between Lake Union Park and downtown Seattle, use routes 40, 70, or the RapidRide C Line

Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Community Ride (canceled)

• Depending on your point of origin or destination within the Shoreline or Lake Forest Park service area, use routes 345, 346, 347, 348, 372, ST 522, or RapidRide E Line.
• No evening or night service will be available on Ballinger Way NE in Lake Forest Park and Shoreline.

East King County

Route 200 (canceled)

• In Issaquah Highlands and Issaquah, use Route 269 (weekdays/Saturdays, no deviation off NW Sammamish Rd.) or Route ST 554.
• Along Newport Way NW, NW Gilman Rd., and Front St. N., use Route 271 or Route ST 554.

Route 208 (canceled)

• In peak periods, use Snoqualmie Community Shuttle (Route 628).
• Use Snoqualmie Valley Transportation Route 629 for trips within and between Snoqualmie and North Bend.
• No mid-day service to Issaquah is available.

Route 212 (canceled)

• Use Route ST 554 between Eastgate and downtown Seattle.
• The Eastgate stop for Route ST 554 is located at Bay 3 on the I-90 freeway stop connected to the Eastgate Park and Ride garage. Eastbound Route ST 554 travels via 2nd Ave in downtown Seattle/S. Jackson St/Rainier Ave. S.

Route 214 (canceled)

• Use Route ST 554 between Issaquah and downtown Seattle.

Route 216 (canceled)

• Use Route 269 (weekdays/Saturdays) between Bear Creek Park and Ride and Issaquah Highlands Park and Ride.
• Use Route ST 554 between Issaquah Highlands Park and Ride and downtown Seattle.
• Use Route ST 545 between Bear Creek Park and Ride and downtown Seattle.

Route 217 (canceled)

• Use Route 269 (weekdays/Saturdays, at SE 56th St & East Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE) between 220th Ave SE and Issaquah Transit Center.
• Use Route ST 554 between Issaquah Transit Center or Eastgate and downtown Seattle.

• Use Route ST 554 between Issaquah Highlands Park and Ride and downtown Seattle.

Route 221 (canceled starting April 18)

• There is no service between Education Hill and downtown Redmond.
• There is no service along 164^th Ave SE, or in the Phantom Lake neighborhood.
• Between Redmond Transit Center and Crossroads use the RapidRide B Line.
• Between Redmond Transit Center and Overlake use Route ST 542 or 545, or RapidRide B Line.
• Between Overlake and Crossroads use the RapidRide B Line or Route 245.
• Between Crossroads and Bellevue College and Eastgate Park and Ride use Route 245.

Route 224 (canceled)

• There is no service between Duvall and Avondale Rd NE.
• Use Route 250 between Avondale Rd NE and Redmond Transit Center.

Route 226 (canceled starting April 18)

• There is no service east of 156^th Ave NE.
• Between Bellevue Technology Center, Interlake High School, Crossroads and downtown Bellevue use the RapidRide B Line.
• There is no service on Bel-Red Rd. For this segment use the RapidRide B Line on NE 8^th
• There is no service on 156^th Ave SE south of Main St, 148^th Ave SE, or Lake Hills Blvd. For these areas there is service on Route 245 on Main St, 140^th Ave SE, 145^th Pl SE to Robinswood Park.
• Between Robinswood Park and Eastgate Park and Ride use Route 245.

Route 232 (canceled)

• There is no service between Duvall and the intersection of Avondale Rd NE and Avondale Pl NE.
• Use Route 250 between the intersection of Avondale Rd NE and Avondale Pl NE and Redmond Transit Center.
• Use the RapidRide B Line between Redmond Transit Center and Bellevue Transit Center.
• Between Redmond Technology Center and the Bellevue Transit Center, use ST 566 or ST 567.

Route 237 (canceled)

• In Woodinville, use Route 231 to/from Kirkland TC and transfer to/from Route 250 to/from Bellevue.
• At Woodinville Park and Ride, use routes ST 522 and ST 535 with a transfer at the UWB/CCC to travel to and from Bellevue
• At Brickyard Park and Ride use route ST 535 to/from Bellevue.
• At NE 128^th Street, use ST 532 or ST 535.

Route 241 (canceled starting April 18)

• There is no service between Factoria Blvd SE and 142^nd Pl SE. The nearest alternative for this section is Route 240 on Factoria Blvd SE, and Route 245 on SE 36^th
• Between Eastgate and downtown Bellevue use Route 240 or 271.
• Between Bellevue Way SE at SE 30^th St (in the vicinity of former South Bellevue Park and Ride) and downtown Bellevue use ST 550.
• There is no service on 108th Ave SE between Bellevue Way SE and NE 4^th The nearest alternatives are Metro Route 240 and ST 550.

Route 246 (canceled)

• Use Route 240 between Factoria and downtown Bellevue.
• Use Route 271 between Yarrow Point and downtown Bellevue.

Route 249 (canceled starting April 18)

• There is no service east of 156^th Ave NE.
• Between Overlake and downtown Bellevue use the RapidRide B Line.
• There is no service between Overlake and Northup Way, Kirkland Crossing, Eastside Preparatory, Linbrook Office Park. To reach this area use Route 250 from downtown Bellevue.
• There is no service on Bellevue Way NE between Northup Way and NE 10^th The nearest remaining service on this segment is Route 271 to the south on NE 8^th St and Route 250 to the east on 116^th Ave NE.

Route 252 (canceled)

• Use Route 239 between Kingsgate and Totem Lake Transit Center.
• Use Route 255 between Totem Lake Transit Center and UW Station (via Kirkland Transit Center). Transfer to/from Link light rail for service to/from downtown Seattle at UW Station.
• At NE 128^th Street, use ST 532 or ST 535 and transfer to/from ST Route 550 at the Bellevue Transit Center

Route 257 (canceled)

• Use Route 239 between Brickyard Park and Ride and Totem Lake Transit Center. Direct stop at Brickyard P&R is southbound only.
• Use Route 255 between Totem Lake Transit Center and UW Station (via Kirkland Transit Center). Transfer to/from Link light rail for service to/from downtown Seattle at UW Station.

Route 268 (canceled)

• Use Route ST 545 between Bear Creek Park and Ride and downtown Seattle.
• Use Route 269 between NE Redmond Way (at 188th Ave NE) and Bear Creek Park and Ride.

Route 311 (canceled)

• Between Woodinville and downtown Seattle, use Route ST 522.
• Between Brickyard P & R and downtown Seattle, use Route 239 to Totem Lake, transfer to Route 255 to UW, and take Link Light Rail.
• Between Totem Lake and downtown Seattle, use Route 255 to UW and take Link Light Rail.

Route 342 (canceled)

• Between Bothell and Bellevue, use Route ST 535 to Bellevue Transit Center.
• Between Bellevue to Renton, use routes ST 560 or ST 566.
• Between Shoreline and Woodinville, use route 331 from Aurora Village TC and routes 372 or ST 522 along SR 522.
• Faster travel times may be available by traveling via downtown Seattle depending on your origin and destination.

Route ST 541 (canceled)

• Use Route ST 542 between Overlake and the University District.
• Between the University District and Green Lake, use Route 45.

Route ST 555/556 (canceled)

• Use Route 271 between Issaquah and University of Washington.
• Between University District and Northgate use Route 67.

Route 930 (canceled)

• Between Totem Lake and Redmond, use Routes 225 or 239, and transfer to Route 250.
• Between downtown Redmond and NE 90^th & Willows Road, use the RapidRide B Line.
• There is no service on Willows Road between NE 90^th and Totem Lake. The nearest alternative is Route 225 on 132^nd Ave NE

Route 931 (canceled)

• Between Woodinville and Bothell, use Route ST 522
• Between Woodinville and Redmond, use Route 231 and transfer to Route 250 at Kirkland TC.
• There is no service through Cottage Lake, North Redmond, or on Woodinville-Redmond Road.

Mercer Island Community Shuttle (Route 630) (canceled)

• On Mercer Island, use Route 204.
• Between Mercer Island and First Hill, use route 204 to/from Mercer Island Park & Ride, then
  • Use routes ST 550 or ST 554 to/from downtown Seattle and transfer to/from routes 2, 3, 4, 12 or 27 to access First Hill, or

• In Maplewood, use Route 908 and transfer to/from Route 101 in downtown Renton for service to/from downtown Seattle.
• In Renton Highlands, use Routes 105 or 240 and transfer to/from Route 101 in downtown Renton for service to/from downtown Seattle.
• In Kennydale or at Newport Hills Park and Ride, use ST 560 and transfer to/from Route 550 in downtown Bellevue for service to/from downtown Seattle
• No service will operate on Edmunds Ave NE or NE 27^th St or in East Renton Highlands

Route 114 (canceled)

• In Maplewood, use Route 908 and transfer to/from Route 101 in downtown Renton for service to/from downtown Seattle.
• In East Renton Highlands, use Routes 105 or 240 and transfer to/from Route 101 in downtown Renton for service to/from downtown Seattle.
• In Newcastle and South Bellevue, use Route 240 and transfer to/from Route ST 554 at Eastgate Park and Ride for service to/from downtown Seattle.

Route 118 (canceled starting April 18) & Route 119 (canceled starting April 20)

• No service on Vashon Island or Maury Island. Community Van is available to fulfill on-island trip requests for basic needs such as grocery store trips, foodbank, non-COVID 19 medical related trips, prescription pickups, to/from ferry terminal and other essential trips. Social distancing measures are in place and Community Van trips may occur with just one passenger and a driver (standard is two-passenger minimum) or a group from the same household including driver. King County Metro is currently not collecting fares for Community Van, bus routes and other services during this time. • Between Burien Transit Center and downtown Seattle, use Routes 120, 131 or 132.

• Between Burien Transit Center and downtown Seattle, use Routes 120, 131 or 132.

• In Maple Valley, use Route 168 and connect with Route 169 to/from downtown Renton or Route 150 to/from downtown Seattle.
• No service will operate on SR 169.

Route 154 (canceled)

• East of I-5, use Route 150 and connect with Routes 131 or 132 to travel south of Spokane Street.
• West of I-5 and in SODO, use Route 124.

Route 157 (canceled)

• In Kent East Hill, use Routes 168, 914 or 916 and connect with Sounder or Route 150 for service to/from downtown Seattle.
• No service will operate north of SE 233rd Place, on SE 208th Street or on S 212th Street east of 64th Ave S.
