A new round of temporary service cuts, route and trip cancellations begin April 18.

With weekend service now affected, and more cancellations coming on weekdays, Metro transit planners have updated this guide with their list of options to help keep you moving on public transportation during this challenging time.

Route 5X (canceled)

  • Along Greenwood Ave N and/or Phinney Ave N, use the Route 5 to/from downtown Seattle.

Route 9 (canceled)

  • Along Rainier Ave S, use Routes 7 or 106.
  • Between Rainier Valley and First Hill, use Link or routes 7 or 106 and transfer to/from the First Hill Streetcar or Route 60 at S Jackson St and 12th Ave S.

  • There is no service east of 156th Ave NE.
  • Between Bellevue Technology Center, Interlake High School, Crossroads and downtown Bellevue use the RapidRide B Line.
  • There is no service on Bel-Red Rd. For this segment use the RapidRide B Line on NE 8th
  • There is no service on 156th Ave SE south of Main St, 148th Ave SE, or Lake Hills Blvd. For these areas there is service on Route 245 on Main St, 140th Ave SE, 145th Pl SE to Robinswood Park.
  • Between Robinswood Park and Eastgate Park and Ride use Route 245.

Route 232 (canceled)

  • There is no service between Duvall and the intersection of Avondale Rd NE and Avondale Pl NE.

  • Use Route 240 between Factoria and downtown Bellevue.
  • Use Route 271 between Yarrow Point and downtown Bellevue.

Route 249 (canceled starting April 18)

  • There is no service east of 156th Ave NE.
  • Between Overlake and downtown Bellevue use the RapidRide B Line.
  • There is no service between Overlake and Northup Way, Kirkland Crossing, Eastside Preparatory, Linbrook Office Park. To reach this area use Route 250 from downtown Bellevue.
  • There is no service on Bellevue Way NE between Northup Way and NE 10th The nearest remaining service on this segment is Route 271 to the south on NE 8th St and Route 250 to the east on 116th Ave NE.

Route 252 (canceled)

  • Use Route 239 between Kingsgate and Totem Lake Transit Center.
  • Use Route 255 between Totem Lake Transit Center and UW Station (via Kirkland Transit Center). Transfer to/from Link light rail for service to/from downtown Seattle at UW Station.
  • At NE 128th Street, use ST 532 or ST 535 and transfer to/from ST Route 550 at the Bellevue Transit Center

  • No service on Vashon Island or Maury Island. Community Van is available to fulfill on-island trip requests for basic needs such as grocery store trips, foodbank, non-COVID 19 medical related trips, prescription pickups, to/from ferry terminal and other essential trips. Social distancing measures are in place and Community Van trips may occur with just one passenger and a driver (standard is two-passenger minimum) or a group from the same household including driver. King County Metro is currently not collecting fares for Community Van, bus routes and other services during this time.
