The green future of Metro is here! The first of 40 zero-emission battery-electric coaches rolled off its trailer to prepare for a summer of testing.
Purchased from New Flyer, these 60-foot-long battery-electric buses can hold up to 120 people including the driver and can travel approximately 140 miles on a single charge.
Metro is committed to the transition of our fleet to 100% zero-emission vehicles powered by renewable energy. This coach is the start of achieving that goal by 2040, or sooner, as technology and capital projects allow.
After testing, the coach is slated to begin service this fall.
Cool! I hope there’ll be a video tour of this coach.
120 people??? We packed 60’ coaches for Husky service and we’d be lucky to get 95 (uncomfortably). Anything over 100 is impossible
