If you plan to travel Saturday, May 1, aka May Day, please prepare for possible travel and transit disruptions in downtown Seattle throughout the day due to planned rallies, demonstrations and marches.

If you plan to ride transit to the demonstrations and events, or for your commute into and out of Seattle, please plan extra travel time, especially following the marches and events. Riders are encouraged to consider options and alternate travel plans and watch for media updates.

Riders: Please sign up to receive email and text alerts for your bus service in the event your route changes or faces serious disruptions. Updates also will be tweeted via @kcmetrobus. Real-time and Text for Departure tools can become less accurate in the event of rerouted bus service or other delays.

Reminder: Starting Friday night and through the weekend, free bus shuttles are operating in place of Link light rail between University of Washington and SODO stations. See details of shuttle travel times if you plan to travel. Sound Transit is making progress on construction as it expands light rail to the Eastside.

The City of Seattle has announced their May Day preparations online, including travel guidance from the Seattle Department of Transportation.
