The unprecedented heat means that riders should expect some delays in service on Tuesday, June 29 and through the rest of the week. Here’s how to be ready:
Before you go
Check your email or text messages for a Transit Alert from Metro for the routes you signed up for. (It’s easy to sign up for Transit Alerts.) Even if you haven’t signed up for alerts, you can also find the latest alerts for each route on the RSS feeds webpage.
Real-time (while waiting for transit)
Our real-time updates can let you know when a bus trip is operating, when it is due to depart, or if it was canceled due to weather or an operator shortage.
Use our real-time tools:
- Next Departures is available on the Puget Sound Trip Planner webpage and the Puget Sound Trip Planner App.
- Text for Departures is available by texting your bus stop number to 62550, and the next bus trips will be displayed with an “s” for scheduled or “canceled.”
- Follow @kcmetrobus on Twitter
Shade and water
Forecasts still have temperatures in the 80s and 90s for the balance of the week. These conditions mean that buses may be crowded or behind schedule. Be sure to stay out of the direct sun as best as you can, pack a water bottle, expect delays, and stay safe!
