It’s my great pleasure to announce De’Sean Quinn’s appointment as Metro’s Assistant General Manager of Partnerships and Strategy.

De’Sean has held this position in an interim capacity and his strong performance has accomplished a great deal for Metro on many levels. Every day, he helps us deliver on our vision to become a racially just department and to improve our community through transportation equity.

De’Sean began his career with King County 18 years ago, and in his own words: “Public service has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents ensured that my siblings and I were active in our community, and some of my favorite memories from my childhood are volunteering alongside my father at the local Boys and Girls Club, for other nonprofits, and on environmental restoration projects.”

Before joining Metro, De’Sean served as the Community Relations Manager for King County Executive Ron Sims and became the Executive’s Council Relations Director, where he served as chief liaison to the King County Council. He then became the Regional Relations Manager for Executive Dow Constantine, working with all 39 King County cities. De’Sean also gained experience working in operations at the King County Wastewater Treatment Division and was on the Emergency Response Team.

When he’s not at Metro, De’Sean serves as a city council member for Tukwila, a position he’s held since 2008. De’Sean is also on the board of Forterra, an environmental and conservation organization. In addition, he’s a member of the Strong Communities Fund, which strengthens communities by pooling, leveraging and directing social investment capital.
