As Transit Appreciation Week ends, we want to thank everyone who has smiled at their favorite bus operator, waved to a light rail driver or said thank you to a deckhand while boarding the Water Taxi.

The King County Council recently proclaimed March 17-23 “Transit Appreciation Week” in King County. The council presented the proclamation to Metro General Manager Michelle Allison and Lisa Nault, Metro’s Operator of the Year, whom Allison called “the best of the best.”

Nault told the council she has enjoyed being a driver for over three decades and is looking forward to more time “in the seat.”

Remember, any time is a good time to recognize your driver by filing a commendation (note the four-digit coach number, route and time). The week may be ending, but you can always download an appreciative sign and wave it at your bus stop, or take a photo and tag Metro’s X feed @KingCountyMetro.

Thank you for allowing us to help get you from “a place to a place” every day! We appreciate our riders, too!
