Leave ‘Serenity’ in orbit, take Metro to Emerald City Comic Con
Don’t be alarmed if you see as collection of Klingons, members of The Seven, a battalion of Stormtroopers, a Starfleet landing party, or herds of Bronies and Pegasistersors heading toward the Washington State Convention Center. It means the Emerald City Comic Con has arrived!
The annual celebration of Superheroes, Sci-Fi, Gaming and Pop Culture materializes on March 6. For the Elphabas and
Galindas, Captain Americas and Batmans, Gokus, Squirtles and Monkey D Luffys heading downtown, leave your brooms, wings, Batplanes and ships at home—let Metro get you to all of the fun.
- No matter where you’re coming from, plan your visit by using Trip Planner. Be sure to add the date and time of your trip.
- At your bus stop, use Text for Departures (text your bus stop number to 62550) to see when your bus is expected to arrive.
- If you’re downtown and you’re worried clipping a light pole if you fly to the Convention Center, Link 1 Line and Metro routes 10, 11, 49 and RapidRide G Line will take you a short walk/roll/scoot from the main entrance.
- Coming from another galaxy or dimension? Remember, Metro has dozens of bus routes that will deliver you downtown or connect you to Link light rail—which has grown like a sandworm since 2024—and will get you a short distance from the Convention Center.
- Departing from Atlantis or Lemuria—otherwise known as West Seattle and Vashon? Don’t forget the King County Water Taxi has midday (Vashon and West Seattle) and weekend (West Seattle) service that will help you get there.
- And remember, all of those going who are 18 and younger—in earth years, alternate time streams don’t count—you can ride to the convention for free!
Be sure to have your ORCA card or Transit GO Ticket ready to go to avoid long delays, because you want to be there right when the doors open.
To the Whovians, Borg, Battle Droids, Green Arrows and Black Canaries joining cosplayers of all ages in search of the perfect Bat’leth, Blacksaber or to see if you’re worthy of drawing Excalibur from the stone, we would love to see your pictures. Tag us on Facebook, X and Instagram!
We look forward to taking you to the 2025 edition of #ECCC.
