We’re ramping up bus service on the Eastside this week, adding more trips on evenings and weekends, and launching a new peak service connecting Bothell, Woodinville and Duvall. These improvements deliver the added service riders asked for during outreach and surveys as part of the East Link Connections project.

Service rolls out Saturday, June 21, Sunday, June 22, and Monday, June 23, and updated timetables will be posted online.

  • Route 204 (Mercer Island): Metro will launch all-new Sunday service, providing 10 round trips and matching the number of trips provided on Saturdays. Riders can request off-route trips in the DART service areas northeast of I-90 and on the south end of the island.
  • Route 930 (Kirkland, Redmond): we’re adding evening trips to create steady hourly service from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. Riders can request off-route trips in the Route 930 DART service areas along Willows Road.
  • New Route 931 (Bothell, Woodinville, Cottage Lake, Duvall): A reinstated and revised weekday peak-only DART route will run every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This route builds on past transit connections between UW Bothell, downtown Woodinville and Cottage Lake, with a new extension to Duvall. Riders can request off-route trips in the Route 931 DART service areas in Bothell and Duvall. Reservations can be made via phone (1-866-261-3278), TTY (1-800-246-1646) or online form.

The added service was approved by the King County Council as part of the larger East Link Connections project, which better connects communities and Sound Transit’s growing 2 Line service between Bellevue and Redmond. The 2 Line serves 10 stations with added service and expansion across Lake Washington coming in 2026.

Even more Metro service is scheduled to launch Aug. 30 and will be announced later this summer. Visit our webpage to learn more about Metro’s East Link Connections plans coming in 2025 and 2026.

  1. Can we get real time tracking on DART routes? I understand it’s not 100% fixed route, but would like to know some sort of estimated arrival for any early or late running buses, so I can plan alternatives.

  2. Expand Fairwood service and DART areas. Communities around Carriage Crest Elementary, Meeker Middle, Lake Youngs Elementary, and Northwood Middle School are not served by current routes. Very limited options and usually running late and slow.

  3. I want off peak service for the 56/57! The Admiral District has a deficit. That being said, I’m SO glad they’re not removing another one like they did for the last service change.

    1. I mean this in the best way possible: I hope the Admiral District goes on strike.

We’ve been waiting way too long for more 56/57, and we are tired of waiting only to have it reduced. Admiral needs to step up and demand some equity, because that’s clearly what it will take at this point. If you live in the Admiral District and want to take transit please tell me your thoughts on this. The more people support it, the better.

      1. You are complaining about a company besides metro adding new routes? While Dart is contracted through metro, Their employer is Hopelink. It is not lie those people could drive a different route.

      2. I just want king county metro to address the admiral district. Service changes don’t happen very often, and their our only chance to have any more 56/57. We haven’t had any increase in them lately, only further reductions.

  4. Dart is operated by hopelink. 204 and 931 are dart routes. Maybe hopelink recently got new hires.

  5. Add a time point at WHS. Also consider listing the bus stops along Woodinville-Duvall Such as NE 182nd St. And extend service until 8pm (After the last class block at UW Bothell lets out).

    1. Yes, we need that routes and the route 16X too for Monday through Sunday peak only every 20mins

  6. There are no new routes, changing the routes in King County, sadly I think Route 106 adding in every 8 minutes 7 days of the week and Route 8 is the slowest and there were so many people on Route 8 and Route 75 is slowest between NE 123rd St & 40th Ave NE always need speeding up to 35MPH

  8. Route 931 was reduced to two-way peak-only service in fall 2014; it serves Woodinville High; when will the off-peak service be restored?

    1. I’m wondering the same thing about route 56. I understand that used to run all day before the rapidride system.
