When the holidays roll around, Metro employees always step up through the Toys for Tots program to ensure area children in need find a little something under the tree.

This year was no different: We collected thousands of toys, books and games to make the holidays a bit brighter for local kids. Last week, we stuffed a bus with the donations from our holiday charity program and drove them in for distribution through our partner, the Salvation Army. We are so proud of our success.

“We had another great year of success with the 2023 Toy Drive,” said Lead Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic Jeff Stambaugh, who helps helm the program. “Generous donations resulted in over 3,000 toys being donated to a great cause. We thank all for their participation.”

The primary mission of Toys for Tots is to provide economically disadvantaged children at Christmas with gifts. Monetary donations collected from Metro employees also purchase seasonal assistance for local families, including gift cards for toys, food boxes for the holidays, and utility assistance to keep families warm and housed.

We’re proud to partner with Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army this holiday season, and we’re proud of our employees for their support of local families in need at the holidays!
