(Dec. 9 update: Metro is operating about 96% of its service and all routes are operating, however some individual trips are canceled. Please use our tools and links before traveling.)
Metro is delivering more than 90% of its typical 11,000 weekday trips. Before traveling, riders are encouraged to review our service advisories, use real-time tools below to see whether the trip they want is operating and review our list of alternative routes if their route is temporarily suspended. Due to the fluid nature of the situation, a number of trips may run on routes that are temporarily suspended.

- Use “Text for Departure” by texting your bus stop number to 62550. You will receive a text with the next departure times and/or canceled trips at that stop.
- Sign up for Transit Alerts via email or text.
- On Twitter, follow @kcmetroalerts for route alerts, cancellations and delays. Follow @KingCountyMetro for general information.
- Visit TripPlanner.kingcounty.gov and/or use other map apps (e.g., Bing Maps, Google Maps, One Bus Away, etc.)
- Metro’s customer service office is open on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays at 206-553-3000.
Alternatives for suspended routes:
Route 9:
- Along Broadway and Boren Avenue, use routes 43 and 49.
- Along Rainier Avenue South, use Route 7.
Route 15:
- Between downtown Seattle and Crown Hill, use the RapidRide D Line.
Route 17:
- Between downtown Seattle and Ballard, use routes 40 and 44 to connect to the RapidRide D Line.
Route 18:
- Between downtown Seattle and Ballard, use the RapidRide D Line.
- Along 24th Avenue Northwest and Leary Avenue Northwest, use Route 40.
Route 29:
- Between Ballard and downtown Seattle, use the D Line.
- Between Ballard and West Nickerson Street, use Route 40 and routes 31 or 32 with a transfer at Fremont.
- Between Queen Anne, Uptown, and downtown Seattle, use routes 3 or 4
- Between Uptown and downtown Seattle, use the RapidRide D Line or routes 3 or 4.
Route 55:
- At Alaska Junction, use the RapidRide C Line to/from downtown Seattle.
- In Admiral, use Route 128 and connect with the RapidRide C Line at Alaska Junction.
Route 56:
- In Admiral, use Roue 128 to connect with RapidRide C for service to/from Downtown Seattle
- In Alki, use Route 50 and transfer to the RapidRide C Line at Alaska Junction to/from downtown Seattle or use Route 775 to connect with the West Seattle Water Taxi.
Route 57:
- At Alaska Junction, use the RapidRide C Line to/from downtown Seattle.
- On California Ave SW, use Route 128 to connect with the RapidRide C Line at Alaska Junction for service to/from downtown Seattle.
- No service will operate in Genesee Hill south of Southwest Admiral Way and west of California Avenue Southwest.
Route 64:
- Use Route 65 to connect to Link Light Rail for service to downtown Seattle.
- For service to SLU, transfer from Link Light Rail to the RapidRide C Line in downtown
Route 114:
- In Maplewood, use Route 105 and transfer to/from Route 101 in downtown Renton for service to/from downtown Seattle.
- In East Renton Highlands, use Routes 105 and transfer to/from Route 101 in downtown Renton for service to/from downtown Seattle.
- No service will run in Newcastle.
Route 121:
- Between Georgetown and downtown Seattle, use Route 113.
- To travel between Burien Transit Center and downtown Seattle, take Route 120 to Southwest Roxbury Street and transfer to Route 113.
Route 125:
- Between Highland Park and downtown Seattle, use Route 120.
Route 162:
- On the Kent East Hill, use Route 168 and connect to Route 150 at Kent Station to/from downtown Seattle.
- Between Kent Des Moines and Kent Station, use Route 165 and connect to Route 150 at Kent Station to/from downtown Seattle.
Route 177:
- At Federal Way Transit Center, use ST Express Route 577 or ST Express Route 578 to/from downtown Seattle. Alternatively, use the RapidRide A Line and transfer to Link at Tukwila International Boulevard Station to/from downtown Seattle.
Route 214:
- Use Route ST 554 between Issaquah and downtown Seattle.
- Use Route ST 554 between Eastgate and downtown Seattle.
Route 301:
- For service to/from Downtown Seattle, use RapidRide E Line
Route 304:
- For service to/from Downtown Seattle, use Route 5 or RapidRide E Line
Route 330:
- No service will be stopping on North 160th Street, North/Northeast 155th Street, Northeast 150th Street, or 25th Avenue Northeast in the Parkwood, Ridgecrest, and Fircrest neighborhoods of Shoreline.
Background (Dec. 8 only)
Some Metro bus routes are suspended and other trips canceled on Thursday, Dec. 8. These 18 routes are temporarily suspended Thursday morning, Dec. 8: routes 9, 15, 17, 18, 29, 55, 56, 57, 64, 114, 121, 125, 162, 177, 214, 301, 304, 330. See alternatives listed below. Metro has restored most service on routes 55, 56, 57, 114, 125 & 214 for the Thursday, Dec. 8, afternoon commute.
Where of info for today, December 9? It would be more helpful if this alert was posted before the morning commute rather than after the fact.
Route 125 is apparently restored largely. Just got a bunch of alerts confirming this.
